
BANGOR — Bodie Bishop and Nicholas Llerena every turned in sturdy pitching performances to hold Bronco Little League of the Hampden space previous Acadian of the Bar Harbor space to win the Junior League baseball state championship at Mansfield Stadium on Saturday.
Bronco beat Acadian 19-1 within the first sport and 14-3 within the second to win the best-of-three tourney and advance to the East Regional in Freehold, N.J., on Thursday.
Within the first sport, Bishop allowed a run and three hits whereas hanging out 16 and strolling a batter in 5 2/3 innings.
He aided his personal trigger with a 5-for-5 effort and 5 RBIs on two triples, a double and two singles.
Gavin Monyok chipped in with two triples, a single and three RBIs whereas Llerna added a double and single. Ashton O’Roak contributed two singles and two RBIs and Nykson Moors doubled.
Alex Roos had two doubles and an RBI for Acadian.
Within the second sport, Llerna allowed three runs and three hits whereas hanging out 11 in 5 innings to earn the victory.
Rogan Lord stroked an inside-the-park house run, singled and drove in three runs to spark the offense. O’Roak and Moors every chipped in with two singles.
