
BELFAST – Belfast Flying Sneakers and Belfast Summer season Nights, with assist from Viking Lumber, collectively current a night of Scandinavian dancing with music by Finnish supergroup Frigg on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. on the Boathouse at Steamboat Touchdown in Belfast.
The seven musicians in Frigg play violin, mandolin, guitar, and double bass with virtuosity and energy, making a hypnotic sound “just like the regular circulation of a mountain stream within the springtime.” The music will elevate dancers’ toes in new and thrilling methods. Named for the Norse goddess, Frigga, the band has introduced their highly effective music to keen audiences for greater than 20 years.
Initially of this system, all are welcome to hitch a lesson on the slangpolska, an easy-to-learn Scandinavian couple dance.
